FEATURES
1) Superior separation and energy efficiency
Outside the unit, the piping is connected to a rotating spindle by hermetic seals. This prevents any air from entering the separator and any product from leaking out. The absence of air in the separation process minimizes the reduction in fat globule size. It enables better separation efficiency at a lower rotation speed and hence lowers energy consumption.
2) Hollow spindle
Gentle treatment safeguards product quality
By contrast to competing separators, in Tetra Pak® Separators the product enters the bowl smoothly and accelerates gradually as it passes through the rotating spindle. This, combined with the absence of air in the system, means the product is handled gently. It also ensures that the size of fat globules and particles is maintained.
3) Corrosion resistant bowl
Increases bowl lifetime, saves money
Thanks to the Air Tight technology upon which our milky® Separators are based, they offer superior separation efficiency at a lower speed. This enables the use of a steel quality with higher corrosion resistance, which, in turn lengthens the lifetime of the bowl.
4) Maintains product quality
The product exits the separator via hermetic outlet seals. This prevents overflow and the unwanted mixing of skimmed milk and cream. It also prevents unwanted air entering the machine, which could split the fat globules, leading to free fat and possibly also free fatty acids (FFA) as well as product foaming downstream.
5) Product discharge pumps
Enables flexibility and low energy consumption
The product leaves the separator through two rotating pumps: one for skimmed milk and one for cream. The use of pumps – as opposed to paring discs – makes it possible to run a wide range of capacities in the same machine without any mechanical alterations. It also increases energy efficiency.

By lowering pressure and reducing air friction around the separator bowl, Encarta cuts the energy consumption of a Tetra Pak® Separator with Air Tight technology by approximately 40% compared to competition. This improves both operational cost and environmental impact. It is achieved through a combination of a low-pressure pump, discharge pump, water lock and hermetically sealed outlet.

Polynode Disc
